I moved this clematis tuteur over in early spring, I can’t quite remember why, and moved the clematis too (not blooming yet, but hopefully soon), but apparently forget there was a salvia in this spot. The sedums are months away from blooming — they shine in autumn — but look at that hint of red underlying the traceries of green.

It does seem a shame that the tulip tree’s blossoms are so high — mostly we just get a flood of random petals a little later in the year. But every once in a while, a perfect flower falls.

This iris! Sometimes I just can’t get over how pretty they are. Possibly this is “Sky Spirit.”

A little bit of the backyard bed that I’m just started last year. It has a long way to go — much of it is just mulch and weeds — but this bit is nice. Climbing English rose “Crown Princess Margareta”, alliums, centaurea, malva zebrina.
