It's summer, so I didn't have to go anywhere, and Kevin and I switched off so we each got roughly 8 hrs of sleep and 4 hrs of work time, but that still left me with 12 hrs on duty with the kids. And I got essentially nothing done. I kept them alive -- relatively clean, well-fed, somewhat entertained. Kavi watched more tv than I would have liked. I did the bare minimum of household cleaning and cooking. (15 min. dinner prep was all I could manage.) The house was a disaster by the end of the day -- Duplos everywhere, etc. And I've cleaned up some this morning, since I happened to wake up before them due to a bad dream, but normally, I would've had to wait until Adriana arrived to get things straightened up.
Maybe I'm not as good at multitasking as I thought.
Anyway, if any of you are stay-at-home parents of two or more, and still manage to cook more than the bare minimum and/or keep your house actually clean, I'm seriously impressed. I did okay with just Kavi, but now that there's two -- they're running me ragged.
My sister (the one with the twins) says you just have to give up and know that you’ll get nothing done when you’re on lone parent duty. Just play with them and don’t fret, I guess.
