People have periodically been asking me how tsunami relief efforts are progressing. I'm no expert, but I do probably read more about it than many, due primarily to being on the SAPAC mailing list. Here's an
informative and detailed report from AID, one of the large groups working on relief efforts in India. Keep in mind that this may not be particularly representative of what's happening in other countries -- my understanding is that India has not requested or accepted outside government aid, since they believe they have sufficient internal and volunteer resources.
Still, it should give you a good sense of where they are in the reconstruction process, and some of the challenges they're currently facing. I found the section where they tried to address how to equitably distribute resources among those who were once-rich and those who were once-poor particularly interesting.
