My fingers are cramping a bit (out of practice, clearly), so I'm going to take a small break and read some of Monica Ali's Brick Lane. I was reading it while on the plane, and I'm almost done. I'm enjoying it so far, though I'm now curious what all the controversy was about (there was a big flap when this book was published, though I can't remember why). Seems like a fairly standard South Asian-immigrant book, well-written enough, but not really jumping out at me as anything special.
Sigh -- that's how Bodies in Motion could be described too, I suppose, aside from the slightly unusual linked-story structure. Though I suppose there's a fair bit more discussion of varied sexuality in the last major section of the book. I hope there are other elements that differentiate it from the crowd...
