Various magical spots to sit and chat and wander around — I adore the slightly oversized giants’ table in the Alcove Lawn. I’m not sure if they actually let you light fires in the Phoenix firepit area? You can definitely wander the Labyrinth, though — fun for kids.
Kids whose families are comfortable in a clothing-optional environment, of course, — there were a few kids and teens around; the little kids were often nude; the teens seemed to all choose to wear suits. And there were a few adults in suits too — you certainly can keep your suit on.
In general, I’d say most people I saw seemed in their 40s – 80s? And Harbin is a pretty white space, just so you know — I’d say it was maybe 95% white during the three days I was there. Also mostly folks on the thin / fit side, which I’m guessing mostly reflects who is likely to feel comfortable wandering around nude in America right now.
There were a few larger folks, and they seemed perfectly comfortable, so I suspect it’s more a matter of local demographics & personal choices than anything Harbin or its attendees are doing.
It’s interesting trying to think about what they could do to attract a wider demographic…I’m sure the owners would be happy to see that happen, especially since they’re still fundraising to rebuild much of the site (maybe 2/3rds? maybe more?) that burned down in the big fire.
