If you walk up the path to the pools at Harbin, you can veer right and end up at what Alex calls the Lord of the Rings spot. It is very magical, and people have added various little things to the tree roots, in a way that feels oddly appropriate.
I don’t know what kind of tree this is, but it’s certainly magnificent.
