I think I mentioned yesterday that it’s a little bit like autumn exploded on my first floor. I really love marking the seasonal shifts, and at this point, I have enough decor stored that I don’t even have to spend more money to do it. (Though I admit, the little fox pumpkin and the green leaf pumpkin are new, from Menard’s, because I had a willpower failure.)
Autumn at my house is:
– yellow and orange but also cream and green and brown and grey and blue
– lots of bottlebrush animals, ideally with plenty of personality and colorful clothing
– pumpkins, of course — ceramic and resin and fabric and glass
– it’s a change of pillows and tea towels and plates and glasses and mugs and even spatulas in the kitchen
– it’s blankets everywhere. SO MANY BLANKETS.
I changed over the clothes in my closet yesterday, putting away summer and pulling out autumn. I have way too many clothes, people. It’s a problem. I just love fabric and pattern and design so much. The seasonal shift is the only way I keep it even semi-manageable.
Today or tomorrow, I’ll hopefully switch the bedding over to autumn, and then I’ll be done. At least ’til Halloween. (I mostly don’t change the inside for Hallowen these days, unless we’re going to have a Halloween party, but I do plenty of spooky stuff in the front yard for the neighbors’ amusement.)
