We did eat out for the final meal at Kintaro, near the Lihu’e airport — we were lucky to get a reservation; during high season, many of the nicer Kaua’i restaurants are booked months in advance. The sushi was very good there (supposedly the best on the island, according to one review site), and I also enjoyed the dynamite mussels and the green tea ice cream mud pie.
Huge thanks again to Christa and Alex for hosting — I got SO much writing done, it was a little astonishing. And when I wasn’t writing, I was just blissful.
