Kevin’s parents also couldn’t be at Kavi’s sari day party — his father passed away recently (we’re flying out to California tonight for the memorial this weekend), and it would’ve been hard for his mom to come in various ways.
But they’re represented a little at least, in the silver tea set that was passed down from his family — I need to ask and see if I can find out which of Kavi’s great-grandmothers it belonged to.
One of Kavi’s friends was utterly charming — “Oh my god! That’s real silver! Can I help fill it, please?” It’s nice to see the next generation appreciating such things.
