Jed is visiting, and though I managed to mostly take the weekend off to spend with him, one end result of that is that an already stupid-busy week has gotten even busier. My life currently doesn’t really allow for weekends off.
I had full work days every day this week, PLUS screenwriting class Tuesday evening, writing workshop Wednesday evening (after getting home from teaching at 7), board meeting this evening. Multiple 16-hr work days in a row is a lot; it feels like tech week back when I did theater in college. But I had more energy then!
I do think I have a bit of a break from 2-5 today, which I will likely use to go putter in the garden, as there are various plants I ordered many months again (back when I had TIME!), and they desperately need to get in the ground and watered. Everything needs water. Including me. I should go get myself some water. I will in a minute. Water and sunlight, yes.
I’m feeling a little bit like I’m drowning in e-mail — I spend hour after hour after hour dealing with it, and yet somehow, that just seems to generate MOAR e-mail.
But surely I will eventually make some actual progress? I hope? And in the meantime, these fabulous trims have arrived from India, and I have PLANS for them, and maybe there will be time to implement those plans before World Fantasy’s awards ceremony, and maybe not, but regardless, I think the end result may well be splendid.
I’m going for a Sri Lankan Snow Queen vibe — we’ll see how it goes. Is that a bit of a conundrum, given the lack of snow in Sri Lanka? Yes. That’s what makes it delightful.
(And if you’re curious whether sewing your own sari is cheaper than readymade — no, not really! Not if you like fancy trim, anyway…)
