Sometimes you get an e-mail from your university with an urgent subject line like “COMPLETE YOUR MANDATORY ETHICS AND COMPLIANCE TRAINING NOW!” and so you sigh and open the e-mail and see the deadline is actually April 1, which is not NOW, folks, and if they think I’m going to actually do this a month in advance of a deadline, they have a fundamental misunderstanding of how my life operates.
