So, this was probably my favorite aspect of being in Nashville — I went to a show at The Listening Room. I knew about this kind of thing because I watched all of the TV show Nashville — they focus on the Bluebird Cafe, which is the same kind of place; an intimate cafe where singer-songwriters perform and try out new songs.
It’s inexpensive — I think something like $7 for concert ticket + $15 food/drink minimum. For a terrific 90 minute concert, that seemed like a bargain to me! Get there early, and request a table up near the stage. I *loved* it, and would happily have stayed there all day; if I come back to Nashville, I might book a couple of concerts here. Book early if you want to get into the Bluebird; they’ve blown up and sell out, but The Listening Room was also sold out, so book early on that too, if you can.
