Blue whale. To make coloring for embossed cookies, just mix a little bit of vodka with some edible luster dust in whatever color you like, then brush on. Don’t expect amazing precision. We’re going for charm, here. 🙂

Okay, I definitely prefer painting whales (big swoops of color) to octopi (lots of fiddly little limbs that there is no way I can manage precise definition on with a brush). But Kavi thinks the octopi are cute, so that’s something.
It’s nice when the image in your head starts to come together in real life, and it’s adorable as hoped.
Kavi kindly agreed to help with the final stages of painting little sea creatures, so I got to take a little break with my book and tea…
