Summer decal project #5 — and I think this might be the last decal project? Moving on to possibly stenciling next.
This is just a little grace note to our small powder room — some trailing succulents, string of pearls. I chose these because it reminds me of Kandalama Hotel in Sri Lanka; Geoffrey Bawa built the hotel into the side of the cliff face, integrating into the environment, and plants climb over the glass walls of the showers that face out onto the reservoir. Just a little reminder of a lovely place.
I wouldn’t use these decals at eye level, personally, because if you look closely, you can see the plastic over the spaces between the green bits. Our ceilings on the first floor are high (um, maybe 9 or 10′?), so this is tucked up at the corner, high enough so the plastic aspect isn’t very visible.
It comes as a set of two trailing plants — I put one up first just as is, and then the second, I cut up so I could get various lengths around the long one.
I had a little trouble photographing it well — the final result looks better in person than in these photos. Cute, charming. Happy with the result.
