Big thanks to Amanda who stopped by with champagne to ‘celebrate the exciting next steps’ after putting away my last novel. I didn’t know I needed mango mimosas until I’d had one (or three). We had a nice novels-are-hard commiseration session over lunch with Lori, and then they looked at my two strong contenders for anniversary party dresses and told me I looked gorgeous and that I should just buy both. This is what friends are for.

I didn’t even cry about the novel, which I think might be able to be adapted into a really good novella, *and* they helped me talk out where I think I’m going with the next book. Exciting places.
