So I've started really working on the poetry chapbook. Which is weird, because I've never taken my poetry seriously before, and I don't know how to go about it. I haven't studied poetry in a very long time, and even when I did, I didn't think about it very hard. I don't know how to revise these poems. I don't have a group that's used to critiquing poetry (although I have faith that my local group will take a shot at it if asked). But I am liking the idea of juxtaposing these poems about love and children and gardening and house holding and war. Is that too many things to juxtapose? I don't know. I'm not even sure how to start thinking about it. But I suppose that's not an excuse not to try.
Suggestions welcome. :-) Are there any poets in the house?
