“Good evening, Professor. Unfortunately, I have come down with a fever and am currently bedridden…”
I just like that she used the word bedridden.
(I don’t like that she’s sick, obviously!)
This particular student is from New Zealand and now I’m curious whether that word is still in more common usage there…?
Also, I have a mild cold and am pivoting my classes to Zoom today — I wrote to the students: “Sorry I’m so illness-prone, it’s very annoying to me too.”
And one of them responded: “I hope you feel better!! You don’t have to apologize for being sick, as a fellow sickly Victorian child it’s totally understandable.”
So I guess that’s a theme today…
Kavi had a Halloween party and sleepover yesterday, and a dozen of her friends have taken over the kitchen to make breakfast, so I have given over the first floor to their chaos and exiled myself to the library (since Kevin is still asleep and I don’t want to disturb him), and am currently languishing on the library sofa. Not quite like this photo, though.
