Quick note that I’m mostly on vacation from now until Sunday; the kids and I have joined Kevin in Los Gatos, CA, where he’s been out for a couple of weeks helping his mom with some eldercare stuff.
We’d stay longer, but the kids have summer school starting next Monday (OPRF lets them do some classes over the summer to get them out of the way, so they’re both doing their financial literacy requirement.)
So apologies to Bay Area friends — I may not have time / energy to do much socializing this trip. We’re also trying to squeeze in Kavi’s first college tour while we’re here (Santa Clara), so it’s complicated scheduling. If a gap opens up, I’ll send a note around. Coffee in the morning or evening in Los Gatos might be possible; afternoons, we’re mostly with Kevin’s mom.
And everyone I work with — I do still have my laptop here, and plan to check in daily, so feel free to ping me for anything urgent. I’ll be back to normal work on Monday 6/10.
Today was a long travel day, but at least we were able to get Ethiopian delivered for dinner. It makes me very sad that I live seven miles from the heart of downtown Chicago and yet, I can’t get Ethiopian delivery. Someone convince some Ethiopian folks to open a restaurant in the Western burbs. It doesn’t have to be in Oak Park! As long as it delivers to me. 🙂
