Whiskey sour with the last of my friend Nara’s homemade rhubarb syrup, reading a silly but charming romance novel on the porch under a cozy blanket, listening to old favorite music and the sound of neighbors chatting as they walk their dogs.
Garden FB group perennial exchange here tomorrow morning, so I thought I’d best get things planted so people didn’t think they were for giveaway. Though I do have morningstar sedge, monarda, and an extra rose to give out!
Sweaty and tired from hours of gardening this afternoon, so many more hours to go. Weed and plant and get the mulch down. Three compliments from neighbors while I worked, including the most charming, a young woman gesturing around at the garden: “I really like your flowers and stuff.” 🙂
I also like my flowers and stuff. Fireflies should start within the next half hour. Cicadas in a week or two? Summer coming.
