Hey, folks, you’re invited to a party! I’m finally throwing a launch party for all the things — my recently released breast cancer memoir (Tornado), my little garden romance (Perennial), my new SF Wild Cards story (in Sleeper Straddle), and most of all, for my new little store, Serendib House, at Berwyn’s new business incubator project, Sprout!
Also, there’s a new vendor in the space who sells all handmade birdseed items which are SUPER-CUTE — I’m including some photos here: The Bird Nerd Cafe.
I sell (deep breath) resin trays, candles, soaps, bookmarks (paper and resin), greeting cards, cookbooks, science fiction, romance, resin and polymer clay jewelry, indie-designed tea towels — all handmade by me. (I have ADHD, and I tend to switch between projects.) They are mostly botanical-themed, and often incorporate elements from my Oak Park garden.
33 little businesses (all currently women & minority-owned), a great place to browse, shop, and support! (The store opened a few months ago, but with the holidays, etc., I didn’t have a chance to throw a launch party until now…)
Please join me for samosas, sweets, and fizzy mango drinks — stop by anytime on Saturday March 2nd from 3 – 8, but if you come at 4, 5, or 6 p.m., I’ll be reading for 10 minutes or so, from one of the new books!
And collect a raffle ticket from the front desk when you arrive — at various points during the party, I’ll draw for a giveaway of various books — the three new ones, and also my two Sri Lankan cookbooks, Vegan Serendib and A Feast of Serendib.

There’s actually an open house for all of Sprout tonight, 4-8 p.m. Friday 2/23 — it’s a great opportunity to meet all of us tiny entrepreneurs.
