I have had a series of small misadventures over the last few weeks, none of which are too serious, but all of which have combined to make me seriously behind even though it’s only the second day of classes tomorrow, which means I’ve been mostly walking around with a stress headache and shoulder ache and I have so many e-mails to answer even though it feels like I do nothing but answer e-mails, and it’s very annoying…
…and it didn’t help that Kevin did Something Bad (TM) to his back last week, and just when he thought it was getting better he lifted a heavy pot out of the sink and injured it AGAIN (backs are great betrayers, my friends, never trust them, especially if you are over fifty), so he has mostly been confined to his bed which sucks for him but also means lots more household chores for me, because usually Kevin pulls at least half the chore weight around here…
…and to add insult to injury, my car was finally repaired and was being driven back to me by the dealer’s service this afternoon (we only have one car, so it’s good they have that service), but it’s snowy and icy here and the poor guy driving my car apparently managed to get into an accident a few blocks from my house, so instead of delivering the car to me, he had to drive it to a body shop instead, and they’re very apologetic and will let me know more about what happened tomorrow, but in the meantime, I’m guessing I have to figure out another way to get into campus for teaching tomorrow…
…and I am just feeling very very tired.
Good thing it’s bedtime, I guess.
(At least I wrote fiction this morning. Thanks, Lori.)
