Relaxed morning. So far today, ran Kavi to school (I told her that she could get rides this week and next week if she wanted, since I wasn’t teaching, and she is taking full advantage), came back and chatted with Anand while we cleaned up the kitchen.
I’m going to go down to the basement next, spend an hour or so straightening up, hopefully doing another resin pour. I’d hoped to get to that sooner, so the pieces would have time to cure before the weekend’s fairs, but alas, didn’t happen. It’s okay — I can put them in the shop next week.
I did do some UV resin bookmarks last night (the UV means they cure in a few minutes, instead of minimum 24 hrs), and at 10, Amanda and Eliana are coming by for brunch — tentative plan is to make omelettes and then chat with them while finishing the bookmarks, which is mostly just adding tassels, because they came out pretty cleanly and I don’t think they’ll need sanding.
Not sure what I’ll work on this afternoon, but I should do at least an hour or two of overdue computer work, so I think around noon I’ll try to head out to my shed to force myself to not craft instead.
It’s definitely easier to craft than make myself start computer work right now, but it’s mostly a starting problem — as long as I have the willpower (or better, habit) of starting the computer stuff, I’m fine actually working on it. But it’s amazing how hard it is to start sometimes, for no good reason.
Maybe more crafting in the afternoon? We’ll see. At 6, the family is going to a Hanukkah party — I think my first one, actually, and definitely a first for the kids. They’ll be telling the story of Hanukkah, so it’ll be a nice learning experience for all of us. 🙂
Jewish etiquette question — if I wear white and blue and gold, is it TOO on point? I have a cute white sweater, blue pants, and plenty of gold jewelry…
