Appropriate for Summer

Just some random moments from the last few days. Evening in the writing shed — the tempo of my days has shifted, with me mostly working in the morning and evening, and taking a few hours of rest time in the afternoon. Feels appropriate for summer.

I am very not good at resting, but I’ve been alternating reading Sarah Maas’s Court series (Kavi is reading the first one for summer reading, and I was curious; I’m enjoying them, on book 3 now, and did you notice that book 1 is totally a Beauty and the Beast retelling — it’s fascinating where the series evolves from there) and playing Don’t Starve, both of which help occupy me enough that I don’t feel guilty about not working.

Summer is drifting away, and in some sense, I’m not accomplishing very much — writing is going very slowly — but in another sense, I’m accomplishing becoming more sane, which I think is probably a good investment of time….

White wine with elderflower syrup and the last of the raspberries. Chicken and potato curry. A light burn from cooking, which I only bother to post because it looks surprisingly like my skin has turned to dragonskin. 🙂

Sri Lankan chicken curry recipe here (I added potatoes and chopped tomatoes to this batch, just because I had them on hand): https://serendibkitchen.com/…/01/sri-lankan-chicken-curry/
