I went to the Bay Area a little early and stayed with Jed, and left a little late and stayed with Alex, but I did spend one night at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley, and it was lovely.
Originally built in 1910, in the Mission Revival Style. No pool, alas, but lots of city hotels don’t have pools due to space constraints — other than that, it was a pleasant place to stay.
