Is It Possible to Eat Too Many Cherry Tomatoes?

I ask because my family has started going through them at a truly ridiculous rate (especially considering that my own garden isn’t producing them yet, so these are all purchased).

But they are so yummy — here we have my breakfast, a slice of multigrain toast with whitefish spread, topped with cherry tomatoes, and it just made my mouth so happy…

Plan for today — try to get more into summer routine:

– breakfast and tea and meds — DONE

– exercise — DONE

– about thirty minutes of podcast and gardening — DONE

– answer some e-mails — NEXT

– write — SIGH

In actuality, I’m not going to get to writing this morning, because I have an 11 a.m. SLF meeting, and fingers crossed, my friend’s college student daughter is coming by in the afternoon to help me with the second half of the big playroom clean-up (we did the first half yesterday).

I feel like I’ve ben trying to reclaim the house and garden from pandemic depression and neglect for months now, but I really am getting very close to done. I swear. It’s going to feel SO GOOD when it’s finished. By end of June? We’ll see.

At least when we finish the playroom (hopefully this afternoon), I get to pack up a bunch of nice Schleich figures (dragons and horses and fairies and knights) to send to my niblings, so that will be satisfying. I’m going to try to get Kevin to take charge of figuring out which of the kid board games have all the pieces and can be given away on the local group.

To really do the summer morning exercise + garden + writing schedule properly, I need to get going by 7 a.m. at least, instead of 8, and 6 would be better. Which requires going to bed at 10, the way I used to…well, hopefully, I’ll get there.

All the routine-building is a little interrupted this summer, because next week I’m going to fly to CA from Mon – Fri to teach a workshop on South Asian SF/F at Berkeley (fun! pleased to be asked!), and the week following, Ben will be visiting and we’ll be teaching Clarion on Zoom all week, which will be all-consuming. So the ‘summer schedule’ is probably more like the ‘July schedule’ this year?

Still worth attempting, I think.
