Tonight’s school board meeting, 7 p.m. – 10:40 p.m. A long one, but it needed to be, as we had some seriously complex financial matters to consider thoroughly.
It’s been a long day overall — up at 6:30, watered yard so new plantings didn’t die in heat wave, answered e-mails, showered and dressed, drove into campus through horrid traffic, observed a colleague’s teaching, worked on my promotion recommender list, grabbed a Subway meatball sandwich (with provolone and jalapeƱos, toasted) for lunch, watched the last video interview relevant to the hiring committee, met with the hiring committee from 2- 3:30, grabbed a mango lassi from the vending machine, drove home through horrid traffic, got Kevin to order Thai food because no time to cook tonight, caught up on school board e-mails, ate Thai food, went into meeting.
I don’t really like working from 6:30 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. straight. But I made it through, and tomorrow will be a more normal 8-hr workday.
