We drove through wealthier parts of town, areas the military owns (the cantonment), and eventually came to more of an old town / market area. This is where you can find chickens, quails, partridges and more for your dinner…
(Sorry, vegetarians — India is a very vegetarian-friendly country, but my impression is that while Pakistan does have great vegetarian food, meat is also a major part of the cuisine for most folks, and considered pretty essential at any celebratory event.)
