I had a a doctor who wanted to try writing in my workshop today, and it reminded me that when we did the first Kriti South Asian lit. festival, we did a survey, and found that about 70% of the attendees were doctors or lawyers who really wanted to be writers, but their parents had pushed them into other careers, and now I’m thinking we should offer a class at the SLF that’s something like:
“Intro to Writing: For Doctors and Lawyers Who Really Want to be Writers”
