Chill morning so far today, watching Great British Baking Show: The Professionals, while polishing up some of the resin jewelry. The new set of finer sandpapers (up to 12,000) are definitely getting me a cleaner finish on these pieces, but I wouldn’t say it gets all the way to perfectly clear. Maybe I need to brush on a thin coat of resin on top?
I’m okay with the results for these pieces — the little sparkly red resin rings I’m planning to sell at the Galentine’s market next Sunday for $3 each, figuring they’ll mostly appeal to kids, so I don’t need them to be absolutely perfect. But for some of my other pieces, like the clear resin with moss and gold leaf, I’d really like a completely clear result. Well, we’ll see.
My arm is getting a little sore, so I think I’m going to switch from polishing to something else soon. At some point today, I’ll gather the family to put away the Christmas decorations — we’re switching over to Valentine’s this weekend. And I have some sewing projects I’d like to do, and some writing…
I have so many things I’d like to do today, and not enough time to do them all…oh well.
It’s nice to not be as stressed as the bakers I’m watching, though.
