Trying to get the house and garden in shape for hosting a pre-WorldCon party this Wed, which is a bit of a mad rush; I’d hoped to get all this done before the semester started, but I didn’t quite make it. Alas!
So close, though — first floor done, second floor I think I can finish by Tuesday, the kids’ rooms — well, if they’re not disgusting, I’ll take it. Mostly finished with the front yard, the back is…well, I can neaten it up, at least. Throw everything in the garage works, right? (Nobody look in the garage!)
It’s really all about the cooking, anyway. Food photos incoming — my plan is lots of Sri Lankan food, plus grilling, probably plus some Chicago pizza for the out-of-towners to try. (My favorite is Gino’s East, but they don’t deliver to me, alas, so it’ll be Giordano’s or Lou Malnati’s, which are both acceptable. Maybe both.)
But I took a little time today to finish up a project in our bedroom that I’ve been meaning to do FOREVER — I have a few more leaves to apply, and then I’ll take pics properly. But it’s coming along nicely, our forest bedroom.
(If you are a friend coming to ChiCon and you didn’t get a party invite, let me know — it’s not too late. )
