I bought myself a present for Christmas this year, and I finally took the time to hang it yesterday.
This porcelain flower (peony?) from Noelle Allen of SLOWFIRE looks just lovely in our music room — I particularly like that it’s beautiful from every angle, and that it looks different depending on the light in the room.
Maybe this summer I’ll take a class with her — I have no actual talent at ceramics, my high school class will attest to, but it’s really fun and soothing, getting your hands all mucky. I think the kids would love it too; I suspect Anand in particular, with his ADHD, might find working with clay quite calming.
