Quick note that due to rising COVID rates, UIC just told faculty that they’re pivoting ALL fall semester classes to remote. Most have been remote (all of English, for example), but even the science lab classes are going remote now.
We’re expecting this is going to cause some extra stress and challenges for students who’ll need to adapt to a new set of processes two-thirds of the way through the semester, so if you’ve got a college student at UIC, it might be a good idea to check in with them, make sure they’re transitioning okay.
Sympathies to all the faculty who are now frantically working on how to effectively pivot.
