Just a brief note that with the right set-up, Airbnb is surprisingly cost-effective for writing. I need to do a deep dive on the next section of the novel, and have booked a place up the road. $65 / night for a full apartment, and he’s letting me start Monday morning at 7:30, and leave late evening on Tuesday. (A lot of the Airbnb folks are flexible on that kind of thing if they can be, esp. if you’re trying to book during their dead time, Mon – Wed.)
So even if you don’t count the sleeping time (I’ll probably actually sleep at home, and get the kids off to school on Tuesday so Kev doesn’t have to get up hours early), that’s about 32 hours of comfortable working space, for about $2 / hr? That’s not bad for a short-term office rental.
