Quick question — we…
Quick question -- we were going to have a chat component to my workshop, but it looks like Yahoogroups doesn't actually offer that. (I'm confused -- I thought they did.) Can anyone recommend a free, easy-to-use chat space? Or even not free, if necessary, but cheap. :-)
HoloMUCK. 😉
Sorry, no emoticons, though. Hehe.

Heh. I think that might be a bit complex for them. 🙂
Trillian basic is free, and you can do chatrooms through that. Everyone would have to have their own IM (via Yahoo, MSN, IRC, AIM, or ICQ — those are the IM type accounts that Trillian handles) After you start an IM conversation with one person, you can start the chatroom, then invite everyone else. Pidgin handles more IM protocols, and is also free, but I’m not certain it has chatroom capability. Good luck!
One of my workshop participants came up with X7 chat, which for $3/month is perfect for my needs.
