Another web discovery: The University of Chicago now has a student run erotica magazine, Vita Excolatur. I'm not sure what to say.
Recap -- Sunday afternoon, Nilofer and Sujata came over and we worked for a while, then in the evening, we ordered Thai food and watched the first three episodes of Lost. Good! Creepy! I'm going to make Netflix send me more.
Monday, worked all day, then a mentor dinner with Janet in the evening. She answered as many of my questions as she could; sadly, it's still unclear whether Roosevelt will have a tenure-track job for me in fall of 2007, due to a whole complex set of factors. Ah well. Let's get through 2006 and see what happens.
Today, long teaching day. Possible rehearsal in evening.
You’ll find that your statement about Wikipedia is now inaccurate.
Thanks for letting me know, and for fixing it, if that was you! Now if some nice folks would make all those red links in my entry turn blue… 🙂
I suppose I can do some of that. It would have felt weird writing my own Wikipedia entry, but it’s not so unreasonable for me to do ones for Clean Sheets or the SLF. Better if it’s someone entirely uninvolved, but I could try to keep the report pretty factual.
Wikipedia recommends not editing an article about yourself. However, that’s a guideline rather than a policy per se.
See also: Ross Mayfield and Danah Boyd and (tangentially) Cory Doctorow for their thoughts on editing the articles about themselves.
Interesting — I suppose I could add info about myself to the talk page; that seems appropriate. But I probably don’t have the time, even if my vanity urges me to do it. 🙂
