I did rouse myself enough to make some food (curried squash soup, mixed greens with artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and roasted potatoes, lemongrass-chili shrimp on a bed of heirloom tomatoes and spinach) for the SAPAC meeting I was hosting last night. The meeting went well and much food was eaten. I was doing okay on the diet front until someone brought in apple crisp. Apple crisp is my downfall -- one of my favorite desserts ever. I ate two servings.
After they left, I watched more tv (Charmed), and then read a tiny bit of The Amulet of Samarkand, a fun YA that reminds me quite oddly (and strongly) of Jonathan Norrell and Mr. Strange. Petty, conniving British magicians -- gotta love 'em. :-)
Today, slept way too late. I've only just made it to the cafe, and since I have a 2 p.m. appointment (with a dermatologist, because when I last visited my parents, I had a rash on the back of my neck, and though it has entirely, as expected, disappeared now, my mother insists I see a dermatologist, just to be sure it's not cancer...sigh...), I can't work late. Which means I need to skip my accustomed two hours of e-mail/net stuff, and go straight to the writing if I'm hoping to get my 2K in today. Which also means no more chatting with you, my darlings...
