Finished part 1! It clocks in at a respectable 17,000-ish words, which is a little light, given that I'm hoping to have five sections in the end. But that's fine, leaves room to grow on. :-) I've sent it out to a few people (including Shmuel, who has just volunteered to be the Official Voice of Judaism). Eep. Eep eep eep. Exciting, scary.
Tomorrow, hopefully write the interlude. And the next week, start part 2. Which I will draft until my first readers come back to me and tell me part 1 is entirely crap and I should throw it out and start over. At which point I will wail and gnash my teeth, rip out what remains of my hair, and then dutifully do as they command.
