Well, this rather…

Well, this rather changes things. So I called up Steve Berman, to ask his advice about ISBN's and Ingram and distribution and such. Steve does Lethe Press, which is publishing the SH Best Of. And he very kindly gave me the advice, plus some more things to think about when starting a little small press and self-publishing -- but then he expressed an interest in doing my two books through Lethe. Which I wasn't expecting at all. Huh.

We ran some numbers, and it looks like he'd only need to sell about 50 copies to break even. I'm pretty sure I can sell 50 copies of my cookbook. :-) Y'all will buy some, right? At maybe $12 a pop? It'll be a good cookbook, I promise...

So, I'm thinking pretty seriously about this. I'm not sure I can see any reason not to, in fact. So if I still feel that way in the morning, I'm going to tell Steve yes. Exciting!

Oh, and finished the Accompaniments section today. Fun -- lots of little, quick recipes. Mostly have intimidating long ones left. Not as much fun to type, but oh, so tasty to eat...
