Remember that royal howdah I posted earlier? Now imagine riding in it on an elephant, up and down the elephant stairs! Lahore Fort, Pakistan.

The area around Lahore Fort has lots of little shops that seemed mostly closed at midday; I suspect if you come by in the evening, the area is much livelier.

After the museum, I asked Usman if we could get ice cream from the little bookstall, and I think he was a little bewildered, because we were heading to lunch soon, but eating ice cream in a garden — that’s something you can do anytime. Just look at that gorgeous thread button on Sadi’s shirt.
