Swung by the new shop yesterday, took over a columbine table I had at Berwyn Sprout, along with the new zinnia pumpkins, a new zinnia tray, etc. and so on. The Berwyn Development Corp. was planning to take some photos at 8 a.m. this morning, so I wanted to make sure everything looked nice and full. Set the table with Sera Sera’s zinnias. 🙂
I have one more piece of furniture coming; it’ll be delivered Saturday, and then I can finish the set-up for the season. Tentatively thinking of a launch party Oct 12, if I can organize myself sufficiently? Save the date!
I took a few minutes to hang a mirror near the jewelry, thought about hanging a large chalkboard sign (something like ‘Handmade by Mary Anne,’ so I don’t have to keep explaining to everyone who walks in that everything in the shop is handmade), and decided I was too tired to work on something that high up and heavy on my own — I’ll see if Kev can come down and help me with it this weekend. My wrist is still hurting and unreliable for holding any weight, very annoying.
But look at my adorable new bunny with a little chalk sign about custom orders (in English y en Español tambien)! I just finished three custom pieces for a neighbor — memorial houses preserving roses from the service. I don’t have a lot of time for custom orders, especially if they need to be done in a hurry, but I’m happy to do some every once in a while.
The morning was doing some paperwork for the shops — insurance, adding a new location to the IL business certificate for sales tax. Need to switch to prep for teaching now, then teach classes, then home around 4 for a few hours, then school board meeting at 7 p.m.
I’ll be in the shops this weekend — Friday 11-6, Saturday 10-6, Sunday 12-5, so if you’re local, that’d be a great time to stop by. Well, it’s the only time to stop by, because we’re closed the other days of the week. 🙂
