Best moment of the birthday party yesterday — I’d held a raffle and given out various Serendib House gift baskets. One of them was won by a mom and her two kids. They left the store, but then came back about half an hour later, and the little girl, about five years old, presented me with a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store next door and said “Happy birthday!” It was the CUTEST thing and totally unexpected — made my day. And as a bonus, it matched my dress perfectly 🙂
Also fun — this dress has a deep boatneck, so it shows off my fire lizard tattoo very nicely. And hey, the grocery store had watercolor-themed paper plates that ALSO matched my dress. Earrings by a local artist, Alix Mikesell. Little things that make me happy.
