I’m a little frustrated on the whole ‘sanding-to-clear’ front

Peony table, and pansy / fern table in back. I’m a little frustrated on the whole ‘sanding-to-clear’ front. Every site seems to claim that if you just start with rough grit and work your way down to very fine grit, it’ll come clear.

But I just can’t seem to get it all the way to crystal clear that way, so I end up just pouring a top coat instead, which is easy, but takes a little more resin (which is expensive). And it also means waiting another 8 hours, at least, for that to cure. But I’m not really in a hurry, so I guess it’s okay.
