I decided to make the skirt a stole and call it a day.

I was originally going to make a full-length skirt out of rose petals. But it turns out that since rose petals are smaller than autumn leaves, they take about three times as long to sew.

After three hours (while watching tv, spread over a few days), I decided to make the skirt a stole and call it a day.

I think actually making the skirt I envisioned would have taken 10-12 hours minimum, and that’s being very fast and sloppy, since it’s just for a store window. Renewed appreciation for the detail work in couture sewing!
