Orange is the most common color of butterfly weed, but there are varieties that are yellow or more reddish-orange — it looks really pretty when you have a mix — look for “Gay Butterflies” mix.
It’s slow to get established (expect three years from seed to flowering well), but once it’s settled in, it’s supposed to spread readily (so be prepared for it to be aggressive eventually.)
