So, due to my complete failure to plan Kavi’s shindig sufficiently in advance, we couldn’t have the whole thing in one place. It turns out that weekends in May are popular for venues, y’all.
So we split it into two — part one was brunch at The Carleton of Oak Park, with catering by La Notte Ristorante Italiano.
The food was terrific — I don’t generally expect big party buffet food to be very good, but this was delicious. We should go eat at La Notte more often — it’s a restaurant that you can just go to as well as doing the hotel catering. And the Carleton staff were lovely to work with.
I totally failed to take photos for most of this, because I was fighting with the projector, trying to get it to talk to my computer, because I had a whole slideshow planned, where I started with Kavi’s grandparents, went through me and Kev meeting, threw in lots of embarrassing baby photos, and then came forward to the present day.
In the end, I just gave up on the projector entirely, and made everyone huddle around my laptop instead. Oh well! Hopefully other family members took photos at the brunch, and those will show up eventually…
