Finally put together another pandemic purchase — there was a lot of comfort-buying in 2020, followed by complete lack of energy to actually do anything — a flower trellis. It’s meant to be a lotus bud, so it fits in the vaguely S. Asian decor I have spotted around the garden — I think I kind of adore it.
Took about an hour to assemble, very straightforward, no tools or particular strength needed — just stakes that press easily with your foot into the ground, and nuts and bolts to connect the eight flower petal pieces to the central pole, and to each other. The metal pieces seem very sturdy; I expect this to last a long time.
Now the question is what to grow on it! I am tempted by a clematis, for the instant satisfaction of that, but I could also do some pretty beans, perhaps, like dragon tongue. It’s in part sun — will beans be happy there? Can I do beans AND clematis? Novice veggie gardener wants to know…

It’s also on Amazon, same price (about $200): https://www.hpotter.com/garden-trellis/h-potter-lotus-bud-garden-trellis-metal-yard-art/?dfw_tracker=75092-157&gclid=CjwKCAjw9pGjBhB-EiwAa5jl3M-BqnPhKV3AvML2KFn6WA3SpaHOjA0RLLb40NzeXnUfT0eC8QQmHRoCtM8QAvD_BwE&fbclid=IwAR39GPaFj6FXsAG67XCTxx2BUSAnlP7yX53t1Sq5rswXrFdFz8IQ1cjhadE
