Blueberries! This is pretty early for them, I think — for some reason, Home Depot had a few blueberry plants that were much further along than the rest, and I snagged one.
I’m trying it in a tall grey self-watering pot right in the flower bed next to the front steps — planting in a pot makes it easier to add acidifying amendment, and I think it looks pretty great amidst the flowers.
One of the big experiments this summer is trying to figure out how many tomatoes and berries I can sneak in with the flowers that will a) take advantage of all the sunny patches I tend to save for flowers) and b) still look attractive. So far, so good on this one!
