Chaos, but fun chaos.

So, back in 2019, I bought some cool Halloween serveware on sale after the holiday. Then we had a pandemic, so no party in 2020. No party in 2021. No party in 2022. By 2023, we were back to having parties again, a bit, but the kids were getting kind of old for Halloween, and no one was into it, so we didn’t have a party then either. I was a little bummed that I’d wasted money on serveware that I was never going to use.

But Kavi is 17 now, and old enough to have parties on her own, so when she pointed out that there was no school today (parent-teacher conferences), and asked if she could have a Halloween party on Wednesday (because she’s out of town on the weekend and has a birthday party next week), my only question was whether I could pull out all my Halloween decorations and make some spooky food.

She said yes, which is how I ended up with something like 15-20 teens at my house last night, most of whom slept over. Chaos, but fun chaos. I miss parties. I don’t know that the teens really appreciated the charcuterie tray and cheeseboards, but I had fun with them. 🙂 (The cupcakes and cookies pictured are store-bought.)
