Pivoting today’s classes to asynchronous

Sick today, was trying to power through but have given up and now pivoting today’s classes to asynchronous assignments (grateful that my department offers this flexibility, to be used occasionally). Several of my students have also e-mailed in that they’re sick and will be missing class today, so I guess something’s going around.

I am drowning in urgent e-mails, and yet I don’t have the brain to actually answer them coherently. Does not help that the pharmacy can’t get their hands on my Vyvanse prescription. Two days without it now and all hope of focus is lost. I feel exceptionally stupid; my brain feels dense, like mud. Tea has proven insufficient. Coffee makes me feel queasy.

Maybe sleep will help.

Bakers, speaking of dense, what would you do to make a pumpkin bread recipe more bread-like and less cake-like? This was the base recipe I tried this past weekend (adding in a dollop of chili-fig jam).

I want something denser, more like banana bread.
