I did a bunch of finishing work today — the novelette draft, but also various pieces that Eliana is going to ship for me tomorrow. Also some new stuff!
Here are some of today’s projects — I wanted to make some ocean-ish art for the store, so it felt a little more like summer; it’s still reading very spring in there.
The first is a collage poem — I used to make these aeons ago (before kids, I think), and I’ve been wanting to try them again. The sealing coat is drying — more pics in the morning. I think I’m happy with it. It’s no Joseph Cornell, but headed in the right direction.
The second I’m pleased with – a from-my-garden assemblage, and I had these knobs that I bought on a whim and never found a use for — I think they’re going to be lovely on this tray. We’ll see how it cures overnight.
The third is a little wonky — I bought some blue flowers online, because I didn’t really have that many dried, but most of the ones that came were dyed, which it turns out is really not so much my aesthetic. But I think it’ll make a cute tray that someone will like. Again, see what the overnight cure does to it. Items will shift some while curing…
